MOSAIC Presents Cabaret Schoenberg
MOSAIC, in association with the Alexander Kasser Theatre at Montclair State University, is presenting a world premiere production of Hans Peter Cloos' Cabaret Schoenberg, a compelling interpretation of Arnold Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire set in a style that evokes its original cabaret setting. Director Hans Peter Cloos intertwines both the seminal work Pierrot Lunaire and Schoenberg’s “Cabaret Songs” in an otherworldly cabaret setting to create a distinct vision of the German expressionist world of 1912. The performances will take place on March 9, 11 and 12 and will feature the internationally acclaimed soprano, Julia Migenes as Pierrot and renowned mezzo-soprano, Mary Nessinger singing the Brettl-lieder with Fred Sherry as conductor.
